As themes of the day there are some issues of extreme importance for the competitive strategies of many companies, especially SMEs of Italian production system, as well as policy priorities of national and regional institutions.
First, the Conference is an opportunity to analyse the development of EMAS and the Ecolabel certification into Italian cluster, through the illustration of the results of EU project “IMAGINE”.Thanks to this project, the Tannery district of Santa Croce sull’Arno obtained the EMAS APO certificate. The new position of the Ecolabel-Ecoaudit Committee for EMAS clusters has been presented as well.
Within the Conference, has been officially presented for the first time the Commitment Protocol that initiates the National Scheme for the environmental qualification of made in Italy products, a potentially formidable tool of effective marketing strategies focusing on leveraging sustainability. Signatory institutions of the Protocol presented the mode of operation and the requirements.
