The texile cluster of Prato includes the municipality of:
- Cantagallo, Carmignano, Montemurlo, Poggio a Caiano, Prato, Vaiano, Vernio (Province of Prato),
- Agliana, Montale, Quarrata (Province of Pistoia),
- Campi Bisenzio, Calenzano (Province of Firenze).
The Prato Textile, located in the plane of Florence-Prato-Pistoia, in the basin of the Middle Valdarno, covers an area of 700 kmq and a population that has more than 300,000 inhabitants. This is a cluster that operates since 1107 with a clear predominance of textile production: mainly produces fabrics, which represent the largest share of production, yarns, textile machinery and clothes.
